Information We Collect

When you purchase from or interact with Synaptic Learning Systems, we may collect:

• • Contact information — name and email address; clinical specialty if you choose to provide it
• • Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we never store your card details
• • Usage data — assessment responses, question difficulty, response times and learning progress linked to your account or assessment email
• • Website analytics — aggregated page views, visits, referring sources and general browser or device categories
• • Communications — emails or messages you send us

When you sign in or register, we compute a device identifier in your browser using the open-source FingerprintJS library to help protect accounts from misuse; it is sent to our server with your sign-in or registration request and is not sold or used for advertising.

How We Use Your Information

• • To identify learning strengths and areas for improvement, save your assessment and support focused study
• • To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests

How We Protect Your Data

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full card details on our servers. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• • Stripe — payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
• • Cloudflare — website hosting, security and aggregated Web Analytics
• • Our learning and email delivery providers — to operate your account and deliver requested service communications

We never sell, rent or share your email or contact information for another company’s marketing. Our service providers process information only to operate the services described here. Promotional emails from SynLearns are optional and separate from assessment participation.

Cookies

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregated website traffic without cookies. Other minimal storage may be required for site functionality and security. We do not use advertising cookies or advertising tracking pixels.

Your Assessment and Email Preferences

We collect your email before the first question so that your assessment, skills and learning priorities can be saved. The promotional checkbox is optional and starts unchecked. We record your choice, the notice version and the time you consent. You can unsubscribe from promotions in your assessment results or contact [email protected]. Future promotional emails will include an unsubscribe option.

The new free adaptive assessment retains its email, consent and response records for up to 12 months. Its resume session expires after 24 hours. This retention period applies to the free assessment; purchased-course and transaction records follow account needs and applicable requirements. Contact us to request deletion. We retain a limited suppression record to honor an unsubscribe request.

Your browser stores a temporary assessment token for resuming within the same tab, without storing your assessment email in browser storage. Student sign-in uses session storage and a device identifier for access security. Learning media may save a playback position on your device.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. We will respond to all requests within 30 days. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA including the right to know what data we collect and the right to opt out of data sales (we do not sell data).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
